We provide a variety of services to help individuals and families under conflict or distress who need support and guidance to overcome life changes.
Individual counseling is a process through which clients work one-on-one with a trained mental health clinician in a safe, caring, and confidential environment. Counseling allows individuals to explore their feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change, better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work toward desired change.
Our Practice provides counseling services for families under conflict and distress who need support and guidance to overcome life changes and difficulties affecting all family members. We will provide techniques and psychological education in order to improve communication, respect, and acceptance between family members.
Group psychotherapy is a unique form of therapy in which a small number of people meet together under the guidance of a professionally trained therapist. During this time, patients are able to increase their social development skills and also help others develop their skills as well.
Daniela Peterson is an approved trainer for Statewide Training and Resource System (STARS) for Child Care Professionals. She offers Early Education Trainings for teachers and camp counselors throughout Teton County.
Psychological education is an important area of our mission. Therefore, supporting parenting skills and providing various techniques to model healthy behavior in children is one of our strengths and services provided.
Domestic violence and sexual assault is an issue that most of the time will be hidden from our society for different reasons. To support local women increase their self-esteem, empowerment, and safety, Daniela Peterson leads a weekly Support Group for women. This group is sponsored by a local agency.
In order to support the accuracy of the diagnoses of our clients we utilize different screening tools that facilitate a better understanding of the mental health status developing an appropriate treatment plan that will support the client’s healing process. High-risk assessments are also provided for our clients that are struggling with suicidal ideations.
La Familia Counseling offers a supervised visitation program for non-custodial parents for whom the court system has approved visitation only under supervision. Our monitors are properly trained in order to have a high standard of services. Furthermore, in visitations in which the clients are Spanish-speaking, a Spanish-speaking monitor will be assigned in order to be completely aware of the communication between the parent and the child.
Our program is a member of the SVN, Supervised Visitation Network in order to assuring that children can have safe, conflict-free access to parents with whom they do not reside while providing a high standard of service.
INTENSIVE DAY TREATMENT PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN
This is a program designed for children who need therapeutic services to address their social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties through an extensive curriculum in a fun manner. Kids will learn and implement different skills in a safe and monitored environment with mental health counselors who support and coach the children’s acquisition of psychological and coping tools that will be implemented in their daily life. This program provides the opportunity for the client to learn skills one-on-one with a counselor and then practice those interpersonal skills in a group setting interacting with peers.
